Kaunsa nasha kar raha hai? I had told Diandra (Soares) to nominate me. I stayed for two months and I thought I have made enough money and then I would have to spend that money on mental health. Those people were idiots and I was going crazy with them. The only good part that came out of it was, I was young and many people could recognise their true authentic selves with. They saw someone like them on television. It’s been 10 years since my participation in Bigg Boss.”

During a recent appearance on Mid-day’s podcast series, The Bombay Film Journey, he shared that when discussing the industry and its politics, he often advised his friend, Sushant Singh Rajput to develop a “thick skin”, as the challenges could be overwhelming otherwise. He mentioned that having faced numerous rejections himself, he had built resilience over time, but many of his friends lacked that same toughness. For them, dealing with rejection was far more difficult. In the same podcast, he also called the Kai Po Che star a “voracious reader” with a “fantastic mind.” He also revealed how Sushant’s death left him sad for three months.

Sushant Divgikar, also known as Rani Ko-HE-Nur, is an Indian model, actor, singer, columnist, motivational speaker, drag queen, pageant director, and video jockey. In July 2014, they were crowned Mr Gay India 2014. They represented India at Mr Gay World 2014. They won various special awards during Mr Gay World 2014, and have been the only delegate from India to win three sub awards. Divgikar is the first Indian and the first delegate from any country to have won a record 3 individual sub titles and 2 group sub titles at the Mr Gay World 2014 contest.

Divgikar, in their drag queen persona Rani Ko-HE-Nur, created history by becoming the first drag queen in India to participate in a singing reality show and win the golden buzzer, making Rani / Sushant the first contestant from the LGBTQIA+ community to win a golden buzzer and directly enter the top 15 of the reality competition show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa in the year 2018. In 2021, under their drag person, they were announced to be competing in the premiere season of Queen of the Universe, an international singing competition for drag performers. The series premiered on December 2, 2021.

In the video, Sushant gets candid about how he learnt that he is transgender.He further talks about realising the same and coming out about it to his parents, who have been supportive throughout. He also calls it an ‘emotional’ journey. However, the part where he shares about his mother’s gratefulness to have found a daughter as well as a son child in one has won everyone’s hearts.
As Sushant talks about his journey as a transgender, he shares that his mother always says, “I’m so lucky, I have a son and a daughter in the same child.” After hearing this, host Maniesh Paul joins his hands and thanks her for showing that love, support and understanding for Sushant and the community.
In continuation, Sushant also speaks about coming out to his father too. He further shares how his parents’ support has made him stronger. “Unhone hi mujhe sikhaya hai ki you have to be strong and you have to be true to yourself,” he further adds.
