Uhm Hong-sik (Korean: 엄홍식; born October 6, 1986), known professionally as Yoo Ah-in (Korean: 유아인), is a South Korean actor, creative director, and gallerist. He is known for playing a diverse spectrum of roles in both television and film, where he often portrays dynamic characters who exhibit significant personal growth. He is the recipient of various accolades including Asian Film Awards, Fantasia International Film Festival's Cheval Noir award, two Blue Dragon Film Awards and two Baeksang Arts Awards. He is best known for his leading roles in Punch (2011), Secret Affair (2014), Veteran (2015), The Throne (2015), Six Flying Dragons (2015–2016), Burning (2018), #Alive (2020), Voice of Silence (2020), and Hellbound (2021).

For his role as Lee Jong-su in Burning, Yoo received international critical acclaim, including being selected for The New York Times' "The Best Actors of 2018" feature, making him the only Asian to be on the list and the first Korean actor to do so. Directed by the acclaimed South Korean auteur Lee Chang-dong, the film was widely praised, competing for the Palme d'Or at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival and becoming the first Korean film to make it to the final nine-film shortlist of Best Foreign Language Film at the 91st Academy Awards.

In addition to his film work, Yoo engages in social and artistic activism. He is also known for his politically and socially charged views on his social media account. In 2016, he ranked second in Forbes Korea Power Celebrity list.

Yoo Seung-ho (; Korean: 유승호; born August 17, 1993) is a South Korean actor. Known for his roles spanned between films and television series, he has received a selection of accolades, including two SBS Drama Awards, a Young Artist Award, and two nominations for the Baeksang Arts Awards. He was labelled with the honorific title "Nation's Little Brother" in his country.

Yoo rose to fame as a child actor in the film The Way Home (2002). Since then, he has starred in many television series and movie films as a child and teenager. After his two-year mandatory military service, he starred in the legal drama Remember (2015), historical films Joseon Magician (2015) and Seondal: The Man Who Sells the River (2016) as well as historical drama The Emperor: Owner of the Mask (2017), romance comedy series I'm Not a Robot (2017), and SBS's high school drama My Strange Hero (2018).

Born and raised in Jakjeon-dong, Gyeyang-gu, Incheon, South Korea, Yoo is the younger of two siblings, he later claimed that his family had been poor.

Yoo graduated from Baekshin High School in February 2012. He decided not to pursue a college degree in order to concentrate on his acting career.

1999–2009: Beginnings as a child actor

Yoo made his entertainment debut in a cellphone commercial in 1999 after Yoo's mother sent in a photo of her son to an ad agency.

In 2000 Yoo began his career as a child actor, first appearing in the television dramaDaddy Fish. He rose to stardom in his first film The Way Home, playing a bratty city boy who learns to appreciate country life when he's forced to spend the summer with his deaf-mute grandmother.
