In this chat with The Entertainer, Ibidapo-Obe opens up on her career, motherhood, and the newly opened sex toy shop among other issues. Excerpts:What was the year 2014 like for you?
We thank God for 2014. It was not really smooth but we thank God; glory be to His holy name. Just as we experienced joy we also experienced disappointments, but the joy overshadowed every other thing.
What would you say was the highpoint for you in 2014?
That was when my daughter, my mum and I travelled to London, Canada and the United States of America. It was a great experience for me because despite the economic meltdown, God made it happen. Another highpoint was hearing someone call me mommy. My daughter was born two years ago, and I must confess, the joy of motherhood is paramount.
So what should we expect from you in 2015?
That one is between my God and I because I am a Christian. Though, I am not born again, I am a believer (laughter). However, I pray that by God’s special grace, in this New Year, I will settle down, I will get married and have my own family. I will also build my own house. After all, I still stay in a rented apartment, but I know my God will do it for me. When and how He wants to do it, I don’t know but I know that He will surely do it in 2015. Also, my fans should watch out for my latest movie.
What inspired your opening a sex toy shop?
First and foremost, let me correct you. I didn’t open a sex toy shop; I just added it to what we do in the shop. We sell throw pillows, lingerie, perfumes, and body spray for adult and children of both sexes. The basic point is that it is not a strictly sex toy shop. However, I see no big deal in running a sex toy shop.

This was their final agreement. Bisi entrusted the sale of her car to Kafilat and her man Goriola. Prior to this, kafilat informed Bisi that her boo, Omogoriola was a professional car sales man oh. So Bisi didn't have any reasons to doubt their credibility, after-all they were all friends. *coughs* Days turned to weeks and weeks turned to months and the months became 365days and more. Kafilat and Goriola started to feed Bisi all sorts of tales regarding the car. They sold it quite alright, but refused to forward the proceeds to Bisi the rightful owner. Bisi as known by many of her Bisi Ibidapo-Obe could easily pass for one of the most beautiful girls in the movie industry. However, when it comes to fashion she is in the class of those who know how to do it well. She’s always well-dressed and knows what suits her sultry shape. Right from my secondary school days, I've always liked acting. I have always been inspired by people like Yinka Quadry, Abey Lanre and Ogogo. These are the people that trained me for what I'm doing now, through rehearsals.
That means you didn't have a formal training In acting?
How long have you been acting?
Why haven't you had formal training all these years?
I have always been busy with rehearsals for all the films that I have taken part in. You know, these films that people watch under two hours sometimes take months to produce. And for me to give my best in anything I'm doing, I like to do one thing at a time. Besides, I want to make a name in the industry.
Could you remind me of the films you have taken part in?
I have taken part in a lot of films but most people know me for such Yoruba films as Olabisi omo logba logba, Oko opo, Ibadi laiye wa, GSM lomo and many other films.
Among all these films, which one took you the longest time to prepare for?
It was Olabisi Omo logba logba. For one thing, it bears my' first name and I had to play the major role of a prostitute which wasn't easy to prepare for, because I wanted to make it look real. Eventually, it was the role I played in that film that made me popular.
