Ellen K is the host of her own morning show, “The Ellen K Morning Show on KOST 103.5” and the host of the nationally syndicated “Ellen K Weekend Show.” She landed the hosting duties after co-hosting with Ryan Seacrest for 12 years on KIIS FM Los Angeles, and on the globally syndicated “On Air With Ryan Seacrest”.

Ellen is a California native, born in Palo Alto while her Father was receiving his Ph.D. at Stanford University. She began her career in radio while in college. Originally a Veterinary Science major, she took an internship at a radio station randomly and after one fill-in shift behind the mic, she was hooked. She switched her major and graduated with honors in Radio/TV/Film from Purdue University where her father was a professor.

Over the course of the next decade, larger market radio jobs lured Ellen back to California, first in San Diego, then San Francisco, and finally KIIS FM Los Angeles.

Ellen regularly appears on CBS’s The Talk and Home for the Holidays, and is the voice of the hit ABC prime time tv show ‘The Proposal’ – she is also the host and ambassador of the TLC Chinese Theater handprint ceremonies. She is also the narrator for My Big Fat American Gypsy Wedding on TLC, Hatched on the CW, and the voice of the Grammy Awards.

Ellen was recently honored with a STAR on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, a Gracie Award for excellence in radio, the annual Genie Award & the inaugural Airblazer award commemorating ‘Women Inspiring Women in radio’.

Ellen resides in Los Angeles with her husband and son, Calvin ’20.

After 12 years of successfully co-hosting ON AIR With Ryan Seacrest on KIIS-FM & nationally syndicated (and 10 years prior with Rick Dees) Ellen was offered her own morning show on iHeartMedia’s sister-station KOST 103.5.

Ellen holds the distinction of being the first (and only) female to anchor a morning radio show with her solo namesake in Los Angeles radio history – and is the longest continuously airing morning radio personality in the #1 radio market.

In addition to her work in radio, Ellen has voiced the Grammys for 10 years as well the Oscars, Emmys, and several other ABC and CBS TV projects. Ellen launched an annual fundraiser for Children’s Hospital LA on Giving Tuesday  which has raised 7 figures for  CHLA. She’s also an Executive Board Member for Loyola High School and serves as the President of the Hollywood Walk of Fame selection committee. Recently named ‘iHeart Radio Personality of the Year’, Ellen was honored with a Star on the Walk of Fame, and was nominated to the National Radio Hall of Fame. 

Born in California, but growing up on the Purdue campus where her father was a Professor. Ellen graduated from Purdue with honors in Communications. She has 3 rescue dogs and is committed to finding homes for dogs each week through her ‘Wet Nose Wednesday’ radio feature. Ellen has lived in the Hollywood Hills for the 22 years she has been married with 19 of those years spent adoring her son, Calvin, a Freshman at Stanford University.

    Ellen K. (born September 19, 1962) is an American radio personality in the Los Angeles, California market and a television host. She is the host of the Ellen K Radio Show on KOST 103.5 FM, and the nationally-syndicated weekend program Ellen K Weekend Show on iHeartMedia AC-formatted stations like Lite FM in New York and in Chicago. From April 1990 to October 2015 she worked at KOST's sister station 102.7 KIIS-FM, co-hosting the Rick Dees morning show and later the On Air with Ryan Seacrest show. On October 19, 2015, Ellen took over the morning show at KOST after longtime morning host Mark Wallengren moved to afternoons.

    She was born as Ellen J. Thoe in Palo Alto, California, on September 19, 1962. The family lived in the area while her father, Dale Wesley Thoe, was a Ph.D. student at Stanford University. Ellen K. began her career in radio while in college after a year of collegiate swimming. Originally planning a career in Veterinary Science, she took an internship at a radio station, and after one fill-in shift behind the microphone she was hooked. She switched her major and graduated with honors in Radio/TV/Film from Purdue University. Over the years, larger market positions in radio convinced Ellen to move to various California radio stations, first in San Diego, then San Francisco, and finally in Los Angeles at KIIS-FM.

    Ellen is a regular guest on the show The Talk and has participated in various productions such as the Grammys, the iHeartRadio Music Festival, the People's Choice Awards, and was most recently selected as the voice of the 92nd Academy Awards. Ellen also narrated My Big Fat Greek Wedding and My Big Fat American Gypsy Wedding on TLC. Ellen was honored with a star on The Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2012 for her work in radio.

    Ellen K. (born September 17, 1965) is an American radio personality in the Los Angeles, California market. She is the host of the Ellen K Radio Show on KOST 103.5 FM. She has been in the radio business for decades, working with KIIS-FM for the last 25 years, co-hosting the Rick Dees morning show, and later the On Air with Ryan Seacrest show. Ellen announced her departure from KIIS-FM on October 7, 2015, and that her last day would be October 16. Her new show on KOST began on October 19, 2015.
