Kristine Zhenie Lobrigas Tandingan (b. March 11, 1992), mononymously known as KZ, is a Filipino singer. She rose to prominence following her win on the first season of The X Factor Philippines in 2012.

That same year, she won Aliw Award for Best New Artist. She has released notable songs in the Philippines such as "Darating Din", "Mahal Ko o Mahal Ako" and "Two Less Lonely People in the World", which peaked at number 2 on the Philippine Hot 100 in 2017.

Tandingan is one of the members of the girl group DIVAS along with Yeng Constantino, Kyla and Angeline Quinto.

She became known internationally when she joined Singer 2018, a popular singing competition aired on Hunan Broadcasting System.

2012: The X Factor Philippines[]

Tandingan was considered as an early favorite after she performed a jazzy version of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" in the fourth week of the Judges' auditions. After receiving a standing ovation from all the judges', she was requested to sing again. Tandingan obliged and sang "Ready or Not" by American hip-hop group, The Fugees. With her second song, she also showed her rapping skills. Tandingan was greatly praised by all of the judges. Nievera even shouted that, "A star is born in Digos!". The video of Tandingan's audition went viral online after it was uploaded in YouTube. The video reached nearly 1 million views before it was removed due to copyright issues. During the Bootcamp stage, she sang "Mahirap Magmahal ng Syota ng Iba" by the APO Hiking Society and cried after she made the cut for the Top 20. Tandingan sang "Killing Me Softly with His Song" by Roberta Flack during the Judges' home visit. On week 9

    KZ Tandingan (born 11 March 1992) is a Filipina jazz singer. She auditioned for Season 1 of The X Factor Philippines and made it all the way to the final as part of the Girls category mentored by Charice Pempengco.

    Due to the eliminations of Jerrianne Templo and Allen Sta. Maria, Tandingan was the only act left in her category. She was crowned the winner defeating Gabriel Maturan from the Boys category mentored by Martin Nievera.

    2012 Filipino TV series or program

    The X Factor Philippines is a Philippine televisionreality competition show broadcast by ABS-CBN. The show is based of British reality television series of the same title. Hosted by KC Concepcion, it aired on the network's Yes Weekend evening lineup from June 23 to October 14, 2012, replacing Pinoy Big Brother: Teen Edition 4.

    KZ Tandingan was proclaimed the winner of the first season, receiving a cash prize of 4 million pesos and a recording contract from ABS-CBN's recording arm Star Music.

    Overview

    The series is part of The X Factor franchise and is based on a similar competition format in United Kingdom entitled The X Factor.

    Format

    Categories

    The show is primarily concerned with identifying singing talent, though appearance, personality, stage presence and dance routines are also an important element of many performances. Each judge is assigned one of four categories. For season one, these categories were: "Boys" (aged 16–25 males), "Girls" (aged 16–25 females), "Over 25s" (solo acts aged 25 and over), and "Groups" (group or duo acts aged 16 and above). Some groups were formed from soloists and other groups rejected after the audition process. Through the live shows, the judges act as mentors to their category, helping to decide song choices, styling and staging, while judging contestants from other categories.

    Stages

    There are five stages to The X Factor Philippines. First is the Producers' auditions, the stage where the producers decide who will sing in front of the judges and of the live audience. It is followed by the Judges' auditions, then the Bootcamp, the Judges' home visit, and the Live shows including the finale.
